New Google Meet Support Joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex as Sources for MediaPlatform Broadcaster™ Custom-Branded, Premium Live Events
LOS ANGELES, CA – October 7, 2020 – MediaPlatform today announced new capabilities in its flagship, next-generation live webcasting platform – MediaPlatform® Broadcaster – that enable enterprise webcast production teams to allow remote speakers and presenters to use Google Meet and other desktop collaboration tools as the video source for custom-branded, TV-production quality Broadcaster live webcasts.
Developed at the request of MediaPlatform customers, the new capabilities allow webcast administrators to source remote speakers – many still working from home – from the Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex or Google Meet applications that the
speakers use for routine meetings every day.
Customers can access the integrations in several ways: either via direct RTMP streaming from the collaboration platforms to Broadcaster or by SIP-based streaming from the platforms’ Virtual Meeting Rooms to the MediaPlatform Bridge SIP gateway. The collaboration platforms add to the range of video ingest sources for MediaPlatform Broadcaster, which also include video conferencing end points and bridges, professional video cameras and encoders.
“With so many of us using collaboration platforms to stay connected, we wanted to simplify the ability for our customers to bring remote speakers into their global live webcasts while preserving the same levels of branding flexibility, scalability and reliability our customers expect,” said Mike Newman, CEO of MediaPlatform. “Our open and inclusive design approach – from video sources to video delivery – allows us to be responsive and adaptive to the always-changing enterprise technology landscape,” he said.
MediaPlatform also offers industry-leading live webcast analytics, including its Event Success Dashboard – which allows event teams to monitor audience reaction via sentiment voting widgets, and its Video Business Intelligence platform, which tracks the quality of experience for each viewer and provides detailed, player-side performance analytics that can be used to evaluate the success of each online live event.
The new collaboration ingest integration capabilities follows the recent announcement of virtual event registration integration capabilities with marketing automation and event platforms such as Marketo and Cvent, as well as the addition of Peer5 WebRTC peering to the list of peering, multicast and eCDN capabilities supported in Broadcaster. MediaPlatform, a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Video, also has recently been named a Video Engine by Wainhouse Research and a top video player alongside Zoom, Cisco, Microsoft and IBM in reports by Global Market Insights, Market Study Report LLC and DATAINTELO.
