LOS ANGELES, CA, March 15, 2016 – MediaPlatform, Inc. (www.mediaplatform.com), the enterprise video content management platform enabling live and on-demand streaming for executive messaging, training and collaboration, today announced that the February 2016 Gartner Critical Capabilities for Enterprise Video Content Management report has ranked MediaPlatform in the top three across three of four use cases: Internal Executive Messaging, Internal Training and Internal Collaboration.
“We believe Gartner’s Critical Capabilities research is an important tool for any organization interested in engaging in an analysis of vendors that goes beyond simply making a selection based on Magic Quadrant position,” said Jim McGovern, CEO, MediaPlatform. “As a Challenger in the 2015 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Video Content Management**, MediaPlatform is proud be a top three provider of video solutions for internal executive messaging, internal training and internal collaboration in this year’s Critical Capabilities report. We believe this detailed evaluation from Gartner is a must-read for any company with plans to invest in an enterprise video content management platform.”
The Critical Capabilities study evaluated 17 companies and rated vendors on 14 weighted critical capabilities. Gartner has identified internal executive messaging, internal training, internal collaboration and external video for sales as the key uses cases for enterprise video content management platforms. Organizations across all industries most commonly use video for executive messaging and training.
According to Gartner, “by 2018, 75% of workers at large organizations will interact with various kinds of video more than three times daily. Enterprise video content management attracts attention from organizations of all sizes — some are looking to employ it for specific tasks (such as internal executive messaging or research group collaboration) — and others need a general-purpose platform.”*
The research methodology used for the report requires analysts to identify the critical capabilities for a class of products or services. Each capability is then weighted in terms of its relative importance for specific product or service use cases.
